Relative retention

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010160

The ratio of the adjusted retention time or volume of a substance to that of a standard substance, obtained under identical chromatographic conditions. This value provides a standardized measure of a compound's retention behavior, independent of factors like column length or flow rate. A relative retention value greater than 1.0 indicates that the substance is retained more strongly than the standard.
