Phase transition

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008748

A transformation of a thermodynamic system from one phase or state of matter to another, driven by changes in temperature, pressure, or other external conditions. These transitions involve a rearrangement of atoms or molecules and are often accompanied by changes in physical properties, such as density, enthalpy, and entropy. Examples include melting, boiling, and solid-solid transformations.
