Phase volume ratio
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008749
A dimensionless ratio equal to the volume of the mobile liquid phase divided by the volume of the stationary liquid phase held in a counter-current chromatography column. It plays the same role as the phase ratio of column chromatography. The retention volume of a solute follows V_R = V_M + K V_S, where K is its partition coefficient.
