Stationary-phase fraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011342
The fraction of the total volume inside a chromatography column that is occupied by the stationary phase. It is a dimensionless quantity calculated as the ratio of the stationary phase volume (Vs) to the total volume of the column occupied by both the stationary and mobile phases. This value is distinct from the phase ratio, which relates the volumes of the mobile and stationary phases.
