Allotype

A genetically determined antigenic determinant found on the constant region of an antibody molecule or T-cell receptor, which varies among individuals within the same species. These variations are inherited in a Mendelian fashion and can be used as genetic markers. Human immunoglobulin allotypes are designated as Gm, Km, and Am.
