Antigenic

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000684

Describing a substance that can be specifically recognized by the adaptive immune system, particularly by antibodies or T-cell receptors. Such a substance elicits an immune response, leading to the production of specific antibodies or immune cells. The antigenicity of a molecule is determined by its chemical structure and its ability to bind to immune receptors.
