Immune response

The coordinated reaction of the immune system to the presence of foreign substances, such as pathogens or toxins, or to altered self-components like tumor cells. It involves the activation and proliferation of specific immune cells and the production of molecules like antibodies. Immune responses are broadly categorized into innate and adaptive immunity.
