Immune response genes

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005649

Genes that encode proteins involved in the recognition, processing, and presentation of antigens, thereby influencing the magnitude and specificity of an immune response. These genes are often highly polymorphic, contributing to individual differences in immune reactivity. The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes are a prime example of immune response genes.
