Human leukocyte antigen

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005422

A set of cell surface proteins encoded by genes on chromosome 6 in humans, responsible for the regulation of the immune system. These proteins present peptides to T-cells, enabling the immune system to distinguish between self and non-self. They are also known as the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) in humans.
