Human leukocyte antigen type II

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005425

A class of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules primarily expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. These proteins present extracellular antigens to CD4+ T-helper cells, initiating an adaptive immune response. They are encoded by genes within the HLA-D region of the major histocompatibility complex.
