Major histocompatibility complex class II molecule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006930

A cell surface glycoprotein primarily expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells, such as macrophages, dendritic cells, and B lymphocytes. These molecules present extracellular antigens, which have been internalized and processed, to helper T lymphocytes. They are composed of two polypeptide chains, an alpha chain and a beta chain, of approximately equal size.
