CD4
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001766
A glycoprotein expressed on the surface of T helper cells, regulatory T cells, monocytes, and macrophages, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It acts as a co-receptor that assists the T-cell receptor in communicating with antigen-presenting cells. The CD4 molecule binds to the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC class II) molecule, which is found on antigen-presenting cells.
