H-2
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005063
The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) found in mice, located on chromosome 17. This gene complex encodes cell-surface proteins that are responsible for recognizing foreign substances and presenting processed antigens to T-cells, initiating an adaptive immune response. The human equivalent of the mouse H-2 complex is the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system.
