Human leukocyte antigen type I

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005424

A class of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins expressed on the surface of nearly all nucleated cells. These proteins present endogenous antigens, such as viral peptides or tumor antigens, to cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8+ T cells). This interaction triggers the destruction of infected or abnormal cells.
