CD8+ T suppressor cell

A type of T lymphocyte that expresses the CD8 co-receptor and exerts suppressive effects on other immune cells, contributing to immune tolerance and regulation. These cells are now often referred to as regulatory T cells, encompassing a broader range of suppressive mechanisms. Their function is to prevent excessive or autoimmune responses.
