Double-positive cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003415
A type of T lymphocyte precursor cell found in the thymus that simultaneously expresses both the CD4 and CD8 co-receptor proteins on its surface. These cells are an intermediate stage in T cell development, undergoing positive and negative selection processes. They eventually differentiate into single-positive CD4+ or CD8+ T cells.
