Double-pulse laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013050
A variant of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) that uses two sequential laser pulses to generate and excite a plasma from a sample. The first pulse ablates material, and the second pulse further heats the resulting plasma, leading to enhanced emission. This technique typically results in a stronger and more stable analytical signal compared to single-pulse LIBS.
