Laser-induced plasma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006467
A highly energetic, ionized gas formed when a high-power laser beam interacts with a material, causing rapid heating, vaporization, and ionization. This plasma contains excited atoms, ions, and electrons that emit light at specific wavelengths as they de-excite. It is the basis for techniques like laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy.
