Laser-induced breakdown spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006466

The emission spectrum produced when a high-energy pulsed laser ablates a sample, creating a plasma. As the plasma cools, excited atoms and ions emit light at characteristic wavelengths, which are then detected and analyzed. This technique is used for elemental analysis of solids, liquids, and gases.
