Chemical laser

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001951

A laser that derives its energy from a chemical reaction, where the reaction products are formed in an excited state. This excited state population inversion then leads to stimulated emission of light. An example is the hydrogen fluoride laser, which uses the reaction between hydrogen and fluorine.
