Organic dye laser

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008310

A laser that uses an organic dye solution as its gain medium, capable of producing tunable laser light over a broad range of wavelengths. The dye molecules are excited by an external pump source, such as another laser or a flashlamp, and then emit photons through stimulated emission. These lasers are often used in spectroscopy due to their tunability, spanning from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared region.
