Organic psychosis

A severe mental disorder characterized by a loss of contact with reality, hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thought, resulting from a physical or physiological disturbance of brain function. This condition is caused by identifiable organic factors such as brain injury, infection, substance abuse, or neurological diseases. It differs from functional psychoses, which have no clear organic cause.
