Arachnoiditis

An inflammatory condition of the arachnoid membrane, one of the three layers of tissue that surround the brain and spinal cord. This inflammation can cause nerve roots to stick together, leading to a range of neurological symptoms including chronic pain, numbness, and tingling. The condition can be caused by infection, direct injury to the spine, chemicals injected during myelograms, or complications from spinal surgery.
