Encephalitis

An inflammation of the brain tissue, which can be caused by a direct viral infection or a hypersensitive immune reaction triggered by a virus, bacterium, or chemical agent. Symptoms range from mild flu-like signs to severe neurological complications, including seizures, confusion, and paralysis. Diagnosis is confirmed through analysis of cerebrospinal fluid, neuroimaging, and electroencephalography (EEG).
