Myocarditis

Inflammation of the myocardium, the muscular wall of the heart, which can impair the heart's ability to pump blood effectively. It is often caused by viral infections, but can also result from bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases, or exposure to certain toxins. Symptoms can range from mild to severe heart failure.
