Cardiogenic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001671
Relating to an origin within the heart or caused by a malfunction of the heart. In developmental and reproductive toxicology, it describes adverse effects originating from cardiac dysfunction, such as cardiogenic shock, which is a state of inadequate tissue perfusion due to heart failure. This condition is characterized by low blood pressure (hypotension), reduced cardiac output, and signs of organ hypoperfusion, despite adequate intravascular volume.
