Neurogenic shock
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007876
A life-threatening medical condition characterized by severe hypotension and bradycardia, resulting from a sudden loss of sympathetic nervous system tone. This occurs typically after severe spinal cord injury, leading to widespread vasodilation and pooling of blood in the periphery. It is distinct from other forms of shock due to its specific neurological origin.
