Neurohypophysis

The posterior section of the pituitary gland, composed of neural tissue. It does not synthesize its own hormones but instead stores and releases hormones produced in the hypothalamus. The two principal hormones released from the neurohypophysis are oxytocin and vasopressin, also known as antidiuretic hormone (ADH).
