Neuroendocrine
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007869
Relating to the interaction between the nervous system and the hormone-secreting endocrine system. Neuroendocrine cells are neurons that synthesize and secrete hormones into the bloodstream in response to neural stimulation. For example, hypothalamic neurons release hormones that regulate the pituitary gland, linking brain activity directly to systemic hormonal control.
