Neurogenesis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007875

The biological process by which new neurons are generated from neural stem cells and progenitor cells. This process occurs during embryonic development to form the entire nervous system and continues in specific regions of the adult brain, such as the hippocampus and subventricular zone. It involves cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and integration into existing neural circuits.
