Nerve

A bundle of nerve fibers, or axons, located outside the central nervous system, that transmits electrical impulses between the brain or spinal cord and other parts of the body. These structures are encased in connective tissue and are responsible for sensory perception and motor control. Nerves can be classified as afferent, efferent, or mixed.
