Peripheral nervous system

The part of the nervous system that lies outside the brain and spinal cord, consisting of all the nerves that branch out from the central nervous system. It includes sensory neurons, motor neurons, and ganglia, connecting the central nervous system to the rest of the body. This system transmits sensory information and controls voluntary and involuntary muscle movements.
