Spinal cord

A long, cylindrical bundle of nerve fibers and associated tissue extending from the brainstem down through the vertebral column. It serves as the main pathway for communication between the brain and the rest of the body, transmitting sensory information and motor commands. The spinal cord is part of the central nervous system.
