Vertebra

An individual bone segment that forms the spinal column, providing structural support and protection for the spinal cord. Each vertebra consists of a body, an arch, and several processes for muscle attachment and articulation. Humans typically have 33 vertebrae, divided into cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal regions.
