Hemivertebra
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005192
A congenital anomaly of the spine where only one half of a vertebral body develops, leading to a wedge-shaped vertebra. This malformation can cause spinal deformities such as scoliosis or kyphosis due to the uneven growth of the vertebral column. It results from a failure of proper chondrification during embryonic development.
