Spin-allowed electronic transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011210
An electronic transition between two states that have the same total spin angular momentum. According to the spin conservation rule, such transitions are spectroscopically allowed and typically have high probabilities. For example, a transition from a singlet ground state to a singlet excited state is spin-allowed.
