Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000314
Describing nerve fibers or pathways that transmit sensory information from the periphery towards the central nervous system. These neurons carry signals from sensory receptors, such as those in the skin or organs, to the brain or spinal cord. An example is the afferent nerve fibers that convey pain signals from an injured limb to the spinal cord.
