Sensory neuron

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010751

A nerve cell that transmits sensory information from peripheral receptors to the central nervous system. These neurons are responsible for converting external stimuli, such as touch, temperature, light, or sound, into electrical signals. Their cell bodies are typically located in the dorsal root ganglia for somatic senses or in specialized ganglia for special senses.
