Neurulation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007906
The process in vertebrate embryonic development where the neural plate folds to form the neural tube, which subsequently develops into the brain and spinal cord. This complex morphogenetic event involves changes in cell shape, adhesion, and migration. It typically occurs during the third and fourth weeks of human gestation.
