Cranioschisis

A congenital malformation characterized by a fissure or opening in the skull, resulting from incomplete closure of the neural tube during embryonic development. This defect can expose brain tissue or meninges to the external environment. It is a severe form of neural tube defect, often associated with anencephaly.
