Cranial suture

A fibrous joint connecting the bones of the skull, allowing for flexibility during birth and subsequent growth of the brain. These sutures gradually fuse over time, typically becoming rigid in adulthood. Premature fusion, known as craniosynostosis, can lead to abnormal head shape and developmental issues.
