Neural tube defect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007857
A birth defect resulting from the incomplete closure of the neural tube during early embryonic development. These defects can affect the brain, spinal cord, or both, leading to conditions such as spina bifida or anencephaly. Folic acid supplementation before and during early pregnancy can significantly reduce the risk of these defects.
