Craniorachischisis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002659
A severe neural tube defect characterized by the complete failure of the neural tube to close, resulting in exposure of the brain and spinal cord. This congenital malformation is incompatible with life. It involves both anencephaly (absence of a major portion of the brain and skull) and spina bifida (a defect of the spinal column).
