Gastrulation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004777

The fundamental developmental process in early animal embryos where the blastula is reorganized into a multilayered structure called the gastrula. This involves extensive cell movements, such as invagination, involution, and epiboly, to establish the three primary germ layers. These germ layers are the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm.
