Gate delay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013120

The time interval between the initiation of a pulsed event and the opening of a detection gate, during which the detector is active. In spectroscopic measurements, this delay allows for the decay of short-lived interfering signals, such as plasma emission in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. It is typically measured in nanoseconds or microseconds.
