Gated decoupling

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004778

Application of spin decoupling only during selected periods of an NMR pulse sequence. In gated decoupling the decoupler is on during the relaxation delay and off during acquisition, which builds up the nuclear Overhauser effect but leaves the couplings in the spectrum. In inverse gated decoupling it is on only during acquisition, giving a decoupled spectrum without NOE enhancement, which suits quantitative 13C NMR.
