Neuralgia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007858
Severe, often paroxysmal pain that occurs along the course of a nerve, without stimulation of the nerve's sensory receptors. It results from damage or irritation to the nerve itself, rather than from tissue injury. Trigeminal neuralgia, affecting the fifth cranial nerve, is a common form characterized by intense facial pain.
