Neurectomy

The surgical removal or resection of part of a nerve, performed to alleviate intractable pain or to treat certain neurological conditions. This procedure aims to interrupt the transmission of pain signals or to remove a damaged nerve segment. A common application is in the treatment of severe trigeminal neuralgia when other therapies have failed.
