Neurolysis

The chemical or surgical destruction of nerve tissue to relieve pain or spasticity. This procedure involves injecting a neurolytic agent, such as alcohol or phenol, directly onto a nerve or surgically severing it. It is often considered for intractable pain when other treatments have failed.
