Neural stem cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007855
An undifferentiated cell found in the nervous system that possesses the capacity for self-renewal and can differentiate into neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. These multipotent cells are present in specific regions of the adult brain, such as the subventricular zone and the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus. They contribute to neurogenesis and repair processes throughout life.
